prathapml
Full story: The InqNvidia Moscow lab offers life insurance For games developers only, mindA TESTING FACILITY opened by Nvidia in Moscow promises to change the face of PC development by maximising hardware compatibility for the minimum amount of developer effort. That's according to Bill Rehbock, Director of Developer Relations at the firm, who we met with yesterday for an exclusive interview. The Moscow lab, which we can reveal to you for the first time today, houses every Nvidia graphics card back to the original GeForce, in one of 500 test machines. The lab is just part of the firm's The Way It's Meant To Be Played scheme. The way it works is this: developer partners in the scheme can submit a build of their game to the labs. Within a few days, they can get a bug report back an inch thick as to how the game runs on every bit of Nvidia kit, as well as recommended default resolutions and settings for each card, so that these can be hard coded into the game. Differences in driver output and suggestions for code optimisations are also included. The result? A final shipping game that should install and run flawlessly out of the box on any Nvidia card - with the minimum of hassle and resource investment for the developer.
