Winpe + 802.1x Nic

Does anybody know if Windows PE supports 802.1x, I am not talking about a wireless card but the physical NIC, for example to access the domain a user must use 802.1x protocol to authenticate with the domain. I know Windows XP SP2 supports it and it is preconfigured but does PE!
