Alanoll Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 First : http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=270687Second, what did you do? specifically so we can diagnose the problem. Did you use nLite? How did you modify your Windows source?
alkmie Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 i did not use nlite i did it manual the problem started when i modifed winntbbu.dll but i reverted back to the source to see if that would fix it and it didnt the only other thing i changed before it happen was i took a driver out of the oem install becuase the dll refused to copy during text setupfromOemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\0audioHDrealtek;Drivers\0TVTunerASUSTBird;Drivers\0videoATIUnified;Drivers\0keyboard"ToOemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\0audioHDrealtek;Drivers\0TVTunerASUSTBird;Drivers\0videoATIUnified"i current have this line complete omited but that didnt fix the problem eitheri am using all file unmodded from source except for setupldr.bin winnt.sif and txtsetup.sifThanks For the Reply
Alanoll Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 i am using all file unmodded from source except for setupldr.bin winnt.sif and txtsetup.sifExcluding WINNT.SIF, how did you change the other two? It's the only thing I can think of is something either is messed up (bad CD IMAGE, inwhich case recreating may fix, or some files is missing/edited wrong)
alkmie Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 i edited txtsetup with notepad changed path to SetupSourcePath = "\XPRO" i edited setupdlr with a hex editor changing the I386 to IPROwho ever posted this had the same problem im havingif you could tell how u fixed id be very appreciativehttp://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=39033till then ill try remaking the setupdlr...Doh' i check my setupdlr.bin and it was unmodded
Alanoll Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 did it work PRIOR to changing everything to a multiboot format? (editng the files)
alkmie Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 well i changed the i386 in setupdlr.bin to IPRO and it still hangsit worked as multiboot till i edited the winnt.sif and took my driver out then also try custom install screen then i re isoed and now it hangs but i demodded the install screen but still cant figure out what could causing the hangmy cd looks like thisBOOTIPRO ----modifed setupdlr.bin pointing to IPRO ----modifed txtsetup.sif pointing to XPROXPRO ----I386 ----modifed setupdlr.bin pointing to IPRO ----modifed txtsetup.sif pointing to XPROand it still hangs at 35mins trying to load drivers
Alanoll Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 well i changed the i386 in setupdlr.bin to IPRO and it still hangsit worked as multiboot till i edited the winnt.sif and took my driver out then also try custom install screen then i re isoed and now it hangs but i demodded the install screen but still cant figure out what could be causing the hang<{POST_SNAPBACK}>step back in your progress, and get a simple disc working again.I honestly don't know the problem, but that's the only advice I have. Take a step back. If need be, start over so you know you haven't missed something.
alkmie Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 i went straight from source again and now it works...one of the files must of copyed bad im guessing--.thanks a bunch
