amardeepsingh Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 buddy i need another favorcan u tell me how to install windows xp unattended on my desired partition but without using autopartition=0 entry in winnt.sifi want to install uxp silently on say e drive (not always in e , may be next time in f drive) hows it possible
Br4tt3 Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Hmm.. dunno what u r talking about but if I am not totaly wrong the entry Autopartition = is only for RIS installs which means that RIS will partition and format tha drive for u auto. The main downside to RIS is that u have limited or no logic to handle disk mangement (partitions and drives) in its native format. If u choose not to use autopartition entry, then RIS will halt and prompt u for the correct partition / drive to install to...If u have access to WinPE u can boot of the RIS into WinPE, fix the drive(s)/partition(s) from within WinPE---> copy XP i386 files to drive and the launch tha winnt32.exe from within WinPE..all this is already up in tha forum.. google/search tha forum for it!!Keep truckin.. sausage eater out for tha weekend.
amardeepsingh Posted February 11, 2005 Author Posted February 11, 2005 For sausageno buddythis entry is available in winnt.sifwhich allows you to automatically partition the drive (whether it is c drive or other drives )where its find space for the installation and no other windows is installedcheck out ref.chm in deploy toolsu will get all the details regarding the same
