i have used acronis disk director and its is the demo version. it cannto execute tasks. is there any freeware partition creator that works with w2k3..

Even in the best of times, its a bad idea to boot into windows mode and partition the disk. Always do it in DOS mode or with boot disks of the partition tools.

If its just creating partitions in allocated space that you want, then disk management (part of windows itself) should suffice. For more complex operations (short of resizing), the diskpart tool is usable from command-line.
