prathapml Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Astalavista, shell32.dll is not in mars.... atleast not just yet. And if you are placing the modified file on the CD, there's no need to disable WFP here. That's because WFP can only replace your "bad" file with the one on the CD - now since your CD itself is the one with the "bad" modified file, it will work fine without disabling protection. Mis-information is not correct.
Astalavista Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 i am sorry i dont understandif u put winntbbu.dll w/o disabling wpf on u run it off a cd will it work?
S0mE0nesMiNd1 Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Of course you don't understand, but your saying things that you evidently, have no experience in. Before you comment on something, perhaps you should think about it yourself. In case you want to know why....http://unattended.msfn.org/advanced/hackedfiles/other.htm
prathapml Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 if u put winntbbu.dll w/o disabling wpf on u run it off a cd will it work?Yes!The key here is to see that there is no alternative left for it. That is, if it finds that your WINNTBBU.DLL is a modified file, but WINNTBBU.DL_ (or probably even WINNTBBA.DLL) exists in their original state, it will use one of the original files. And well, you always knew this - if you edit a file with name abc, edit *ALL* files named abc so that its all on an equal footing (same as what happens with the bootlogo in I386 and in SP2.cab being different).Hey, I see you have edited your previous posts in this topic!
Astalavista Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 thanks prathapml i understand... learned something new today.
