January 30, 200521 yr I'm a civil engg. student, and have two assignments (submit report, abt. 50-60 A4 pgs):For surveying, the topic is "Evolution of surveying".For chemistry, it is "applications of thermochemistry in civil engg."I can fairly easily do the surveying one, but I don't know the head-tail of what the chemistry one means.Help PLZ.
January 30, 200521 yr Well... start with the Thermochemistry part...I (as an Engineering Physics student) see that as using something that blows up (and generates heat in the process) by means of a chemical reaction.Applications of this for Civil Engineering could be to use dynamite to blast your way through a mountain for a railroad.Just a thought....Engineering Physicists build the weapons... Civil Engineers build the targets.Just a funny quote... ERTW!!!
January 31, 200521 yr Author Good point. I'm gonna find out what to do with this assignment. Also, for materials, I think concrete will be the best topic...eh?? among various types of metals and non-metals.
