hectornx
I have 4 laptops 3 of them are connected to each other via the wireless Ad Hoc mode and the last one is connected to one other laptop via the crossover ethernet cable. The network bridge is active i used the default dhcp, tcp, dns. Once all the laptops are together I made sure they are all connected (all are viewable through network places and are able to share files on all 4 laptops). My problem is when I am trying to host a game like BattleField 1942 on one of the laptops. After connecting to the server 2 laptops experience connection problems and get booted from the game. Usually if the laptop hosting the game is using the bridge connection the only one to connect to it successfully is the laptop with the crossover cable connection and visa versa if the game is hosted by the laptop from the wireless network the only laptop that would connect to it successfully is the one not bridged with ethernet cable. I've also tried to use the DxDiag utility to determine tcp/ip gaming issues and none were found. If you have any ideas please reply.
brian873
Not a real solution for you but buy a router/hub/firewall devices and it takes care of all that for you. you can pick them up for about 30 quid. also you can plug in and play as they say.hail hail
hectornx
thanks for the reply, I have a wirelessrouter and a 1Gbit switch at home, because of the lack of the stores around me right now that's the only network we can run at this moment.
