psybernoid Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 I am curious as to weather XPCreate currently works with the beta releases of XP64, or has support planned for the future.
mmarable Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 No, it won't work. The directory structure is different in the 64-bit version compared to the 32-bit.All the files we normally work with (TXTSETUP.SIF, Unattented.txt, etc.) are in a folder called "AMD64" and not "I386".
psybernoid Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 Yeah, I did kinda figure that would be the case. But still, an updated version that does support XP64 would be nice - would save me integrating all the stuff I need manually.
mmarable Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 Well, as with all things we'll have to wait until the final product is out. Who know, MS may switch it all back into the I386 folder anyway.I'm no expert, but there may be differences in how TXTSetup is formatted. I've been having the hardest time trying to get the SATA drivers slipstreamed in, but like I said, I'm no expert at all and it's most likely either a problem with the drivers (a beta release themselves) or I'm just plain doing it wrong (most likely).
tarquel Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Welcome to MSFN psybernoidI think i'm right in saying that it wont be supported anytime soon. And definately not beta or evaluation version of operating system's - only the "real deal" will be, as has already been the case.I'm not saying I speak for the master (GM) hehe but I only imagine this to be the case, based on previous questions & post's regarding beta/eval versions of OS'It may happen, but I wouldnt hold out hope just yet Best regards,N.
GreenMachine Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Right you be, it_ybd. I will not be supporting any beta OSes. I would like to get my hands on a 64 bit CPU, and give it a try, though (for educational purposes, of course ... )
