craig.miller Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 I'm trying to use XPCReate with Windows Small Business Server 2003 and I recieve the error, "Cannot find windows version tag file".This wasn't listed as a known issue, an FAQ, or mentioned in the docs. Is there a way around this? I don't need hotfixes, or anything else except the Escalade 7000 RAID drivers, so if I disable any of the other automatic features it won't affect my install requirements. Thanks for the help.--Craig

tarquel Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Welcome to MSFN craig.millerAre you using a evaluation version of some sort?If so, this may be the case - someone else has had the same error message in a previous post but havent got the link handy i'm afraid.Good luck,N.
ryang Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/sbs/default.mspxIt's not a beta AFAIK.SBS has always been a bit of a mish-mash of products though, so it's not really a suprise that it wasn't recognised. If you are ONLY using XPCREATE to integrate drivers, then you might also want to check out nLite. I have a feeling it won't support it, but it doesn't hurt to try.
GreenMachine Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Welcome to MSFN, craig.miller!I'll have to get a copy of SBS, and take a look. XPCREATE searches for PRODSPEC.INI to determine the Windows flavor. This file is included on all the other Windows versions. Strange that it was left out here.As soon as I get a copy, I'll update this thread. In the meantime, you could search the CD for PRODSPEC.INI, and post back your findings. Thanks
tarquel Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Whoopsy....I did indeed misread the Small Business Edition bit Sorry,N.
GreenMachine Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 I still find it strange that PRODSPEC.INI can't be found ... I'll look into it as soon as I dig out my SBS copy.
