alan8311 Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 hi everyone, im using resource hacker and iconsextract to edit my windows icons files, when i want to replace the original shell32 to the new modified shell32 files, the windows prompt out the message and not allow me to replace it.. can anyone tell me how to replace the files, or any other correct ways to do it... please help me!
Astalavista Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 there are several guides on how to do what u are asking.I made a guide myself a few weeks ago.pls learn to use the search function before posting.search for shell32.dll and astalavista or shell32.dll and MCTwelcome to msfn
MCT Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 the file is being used by windows, so u must rename it first REN %windir%\System32\shell32.dll shell32.oldXCOPY shell32.dll "%windir%\system32\" /Yshould work
