DigeratiPrime Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 ok guys im actually thinking of switching from Office Outlook to Thunderbird. I always kept IE on because I heard Outlook had some sort of dependancy on it. So im interested in hearing the experiences / trouble if any that people have had after removing IE with nLite. Hope to hear some positive results!
prathapml Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 If you don't want head-aches, keep IE-core.I guess Outlook Express and IE (main) components can be removed without any problem.
DigeratiPrime Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 does anyone know or have experience with disabling Internet Explorer? I will probably try removing the main components as prathapml suggested, but is there software or some tweak that will prevent Windows Explorer/Internet Explorer from accessing the internet or loading web pages? Anything!?
mark Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 Not sure, but if you install Firefox and Thunderbird, you are given the option to make them the defaults. Leave IE and Outlook in place until you are happy with FF and Thunderbird. If not, dump FF and T. After a few days and you have learned to hate IE, the decisions will become easy. For me, Thunderbird is still under review.DL
