help with space on XP Pro SP2 cd

Featured Replies

Hi all

Have made an unattended install of XP with SP2 and a few apps as well.

I have now got to the stage were I will have to burn to DVD if I am one more app to the disk.

I only need to gain a few MB if I can, so my question for all you out there is.....

On the XP Sp2 CD I have a few folders, Can I remove any off these and not affect the install of xp?

There is a "cmpnents" folder with 2 sub folders inside it called "netfx" and "TABLETPC".

Can I remove these? If I can I will gain 25MB

What about the "VALUEADD" folder. Would gain nearly 10MB there.

What about the "I386\WIN9XMIG" folder, as this will be a fresh install on computers, do I need this folder still? Would gain over 30MB with this one gone.

I could just try to remove them and burn and try the disk, but I don’t want to do that if one of you people can help me out instead.

Thanks to you all for your hard work on this forum, its been a great please to look for help and this is the first time I have needed to ask for any as all my answer's I needed I have found on here.
