two questions: getting rid of recycle bin icon &

how do i pin certain things to my start menu?

like a folder i have on my desktop

and i want to put the recycle bin in the start menu, and not on the desktop, if that's possible.

CLick and drag the Recycling Bin to your start menu. And if it doesnt move from desktops then delete the one on the desktop

Unfortunately you can't simply delete the Recycle Bin from the desktop. The easiest way to get rid of it is by using Microsoft's Tweak UI power tool.

You can get it here http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c...wertoySetup.exe

The download is ~147k and gives you access to a lot of 'hidden' features. Once installed, simply start it up and go to the Desktop section and remove the checkmark next to the Recycle Bin. Please note that you must have Windows XP SP1 or later for the above program.

Use this to remove it from your desktop

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}]

I moved it to my control panel. Figured if I ever use it I can just go the extra step.
