r0t00x Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Hey there e(X)tra(P)roffesionals...I have a question that I hope someone could answer. About a month ago I have installed XP SP2 on my friends machine. Did some tweaking using guides I found on the net. Everything was fine untill one day that net died. Problem is that IP cannot be renewed, ipconfig shows 0.0.0.0, subnet the same. it returns error: The RPC server in unavailalbe.I've been seeking thru net resources, but could't find anything helpful. Is there anything else than XP rein?Thhhanks for your attention..
soldier1st Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 do you use xplite?is rpc locator turned off or removed?maybe try a xp repair, also what kind of internet do you use?do you have DHCP Client Turned off?
r0t00x Posted January 13, 2005 Author Posted January 13, 2005 no I don't use xplite, rpc locator turnd on/off doesn't make any difference. DHCP Client turnd on
soldier1st Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 try an xp repair, that often fixes many problems
r0t00x Posted January 13, 2005 Author Posted January 13, 2005 I did.... seems to work fine. We'll see for how long. Thanks
