parks Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 How does one configure the folder toolbar (I want to add cut and paste icons). I dont mean IE I mean the general purpose folder layout. It appears to be a binary value. Oh yeah, I meant using the registry as this is for unattended install, not the manual change.
big poppa pump Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Do it manually and use a registry scanner to monitor the changes.
mdz61384 Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 big poppa...do you have any suggestions on registry scanners to use?
totoymola Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 There are a lot. RegSnap, System Mechanic, etc..
parks Posted January 18, 2005 Author Posted January 18, 2005 I ended up using the REGSNAP utility. I tried using otheres including sys / reg mechanic but REGSNAP takes snapshots of an extensive variety of files and allows comparison of the differences. Took about 3 minutes to see the changes made(it was binary encoded)
totoymola Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 So.. could you post your results? Where is the registry entry located?
Tsunami Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 The registry entries are located here:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\Explorer][HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\ShellBrowser][HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser]It's the value called ITBarLayout.
