Let me reitterrate what ever other new poster has said...This booard is awesome.

I have been using the knowledge of this board to complete our last successful rollout in our company for XP with SP1 and post hotfixes integrated. The one difference is that I am not burning bootable cds, but rather we are using RIS. This has been highly successful up until now and hence my reason for posting.

Let me state that I really need to run these hotfixes in the svcpack.inf, as the goal here is to start the install and have the users able to login when it is done. I have two models of boards that I am dealing with Intel 815EFVLU and Intel 865GLCLK and have most of the drivers picking up during the install (little tweaking left with that to do). I accomplish all the rest of the software installs through an AD packages via group policy. So let me get to the meat of my question.

Has anything changed since SP1 about the ability to install hotfixes via the svcpack.inf? I have my new image (XPPro w/SP2)setup the same as the old one(XP Pro w/SP1), however when the install is done it does not appear that any of the hotfixes have run. Also, would the setuplog.txt in C:\WINDOWS\setuplog.txt log anything run via the svcpack.inf? I looked through it but could not find any file that was being called or executed with any of the files that I have specified in the svcpack.inf.

Specifically, the files I am trying to install via svcpack.inf are:

KB885835

KB886185

KB885836

KB834707

KB885626

dotnetfw

Qchain

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

So I figured out my problem, the svcpack.inf was missing the Major and minor version under the Version Header

MajorVersion=5

MinorVersion=1

BuildNumber=2600

Anyway, I still have my other question that went unanswered about a log file that shows that anything in svcpack.inf was run or even attempted to run. I know that the indivdual hotfixes generate the kb article log files in the windows directory (which only happens when they run), but apart from that does anyone know if there is a higher log file that refernces them running during the setup (T 13)?

Thanks
