LittleLew Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 I have been using a Nikon D70 for about 8 months and connecting to my PC through a USB connector.Recently I installed an x-Drive Pro portable hard drive through this same USB port. (This is a PHD for graphic images). Now the USB port will no see the Nikon when it is connected altho it still works with the PHD. Is this the situation where I must 'dismount' the PHD. How does one do that in XP. No documentation on that in MS help. Thanks in advance for any advice.
firefoxthebomb Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 The hard drive and the usb Nikon D70 are probably trying to use the same drive letter. This may be a long shot but it worked on my computer when it would not see a usb memory stick. 1. Right Click on My Computer and then select Manage.2. Then go to Disk Management3. Right Click on the hard drive you want to change the drive letter for select Change Drive Letter and Paths4. Click on Change... and then select a drive letter that is not being used.Once this is done restart your computer and then try connecting your camera again and see if it works.
