Hello, I am new. I have XP Home edition. How can I increase my virtual memory? I keep getting messages that I am low and at times I cannot go on the interet. Thank you for your suggestions.

Click Start --> My Computer

Right click --> Choose Properties

Click the Advanced Tab

Click the Settings button under Performance

On the Advanced Tab, click Change under Virtual Memory

Apply settings

You may need to reboot.

There is nothing like adding more memory to your computer to help fix this problem too.

i keep on getting this problem when i am quickly switching from a game in the background, but i have 1gb of ram and a similar sized paging file :S

Try using th Program FreeRam XP Pro. I had some luck, getting some extra "juice" ut of my laptop, after I installed it.
