Last night, I logged onto my computer and then I saw a pop-up message from someone. It was one of those spam messages that you get in an e-mail. Does anyone know how someone from outside my network at home could have done this? Here's a copy of the message I got from the Event Viewer:

Someone else in here got that too. You need a firewall to block the incoming messages. FthrJACK says Kerio Personal Firewall blocks them.

disable the messenger service..

go to your control panel > administrative tools > services shortcut > scroll down to messenger on the right side > double click and choose startup type "disabled". also might as well stop the service while you're there. this will not harm windows messenger.

Yep, won't effect Windows Messenger, just the Netsend feature.
