ripken204 Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 okay ive been looking through this forum and ive noticed that you dont need all of the files for the installation. why is that? wouldnt there be features missing?
Astalavista Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 So the hacked versions are smaller but with less functions (because they dropped some functions away in return for the space, right?)--http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=35303The "hacked" version is smaller because it has removed the files needed to install Diskeeper on Microsoft OS' other than XP. Each OS has it's own files contained in the installer. Since you only need the XP files to install on XP you can safely remove the NT and 9x related files and this leaves the needed XP files. You lose zero functionality. Note that this smaller installer will not work on a non-XP system for obvious reasons.--http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=35303
ripken204 Posted January 1, 2005 Author Posted January 1, 2005 so could i then take all the install filles for a program and just put them into the installlation? therefore i know it would work?
