MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Just purchased a WD 200 Gb 8mb cache drive iniatlised in windows, formatted. However under properties it merely shows 127Gb?I was under the impression XP had large HD support??
tarquel Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 not 100% sure here but are you running XP SP2 and have you checked the motherboard manufacturer's website for info on it? The motherboard *may* need a BIOS update or it just might not support sizes of HD's that large.Cant say for sure... what motherboard (exact model) is it?Regards,N.
MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted December 26, 2004 Author Posted December 26, 2004 Gigabyte GA-81EXP approx two years old? Their site does not mention bios update for large HD support?
Marsden Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Many have had success with loading the Intel Application Accelerator V2.3 for proper HD support.
tarquel Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 indeed - the latest mobo chipset drivers are always best installed Cheers,N.
