use uninstall files to make an automated install program?

would that work? i figure, it has all the files and reg entries of the program, so you might be able to use it to make a file which will automatically install the program.

just an idea. it may be retarded but i am new

flame away anyway if it is dumb, because i know how good that feels for you from my experience in other forums :D

@stinkjones,

do you know.... actually you have got a good idea there. Yes, you *CAN* do that.

In fact, I've been doing that since some time - for the mozilla installer (there's a .log file that says what reg and file entries were made). So then, once you know what the installer did, you can do the same yourself - without needing 3rd party apps to monitor the install.

But for most purposes doing so is not needed - but some cases do suit the "work in reverse direction from uninstaller logs" very well. Merry Christmas!
