Winntbbu Help

Featured Replies

I am currently having a problem with my install. During the text stage of the installation I get this error:

The file winntbbu.dll was not copied correctly.

The file Setup placed on your hard drive is not a valid Windows XP system image.  If you are installing from a CD, there may be a problem with the Windows XP CD.

I can skip past this error message and it will continue with the install even showing my custom billboard screen. I am including a screen shot of the error that I am recieving. I also would like to apologize for posting in the wrong area. I am new to this...

u need to "modifype" the file, download modifype or search the forums for it

place modifype & winntbbu.dll in the same folder

browse to that folder via cmd prompt..

next type modifype.exe winnbbu.dll -c

Thank you for your help. I got it to work. There's alot I do not understand about editting dll files. But I consider myself a fast learner. I think the confusion comes from the two files. They are the same thing right?

what is the same thing? after modifype'ing the .dll file the name/icon doesnt change.. the only thing changed is the crc header which u cant see without resource hacking the file :)

from the two files. They are the same thing right?
