problem with creating unattended xp cd

hi

i need ur help about creating unattended xp setup

i 'll tell u in details wht i did exactly so plz be patient

{ after i extract the deploy from my cd & run the setupmgr.exe & obtained the answer file(unattended.txt)& unattended.bat

i've change the unattended.txt into winnt.sif & i move it to i386folder

----------

now the folder i creat for the winxp unattended cd contain the following:-

1- i386 folder (i put the winnt.sif in this folder)

2-unattended.bat (created by the setupmgr.exe)

3-win51 & win51ip (i had copy from my winxp cd)

4-setup.exe (i had copy from my winxp cd)

----------

now:

i simply double clicked on my setup.exe to run the unattended xp installation but nothing have changed

I am not sure if I understandf what you mean, but whatever your answer file is , if it is unattend.txt or what, but if you have created a unattended.bat file, you must use that.

Setup alone dont know that it shall run unattend. txt , if you dont tell it.

Try to start setup with the *.bat file you created....

are you trying to install from Within Windows? if so, svgusta is on the right track. You have to use a switch when calling setup to tell it to use the answer file. The answer file is ONLY automatically used if you boot into the CD.
