Blank buttons in taskbar

Featured Replies

Hi - first post on this forum so excuse me if I make a hash of it

Since installing Service pack 1.5 I've had problems with blank buttons appearing in my task bar. I have eventually tracked this down to the following article

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=280722

Which advises to remove the following hotfix

260067.inf

I do not have this file on my machine but I assume that it has been incorporated into SP1.5. How can I get rid of this hotfix or better still fix the problem some other way?

I'm going to install SP2.0b to see if this makes any difference but would appreciate any feedback on this subject

Thanks

Looking further I find this post

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/micros...3437c5fd11eb27f

(sorry about the size of the link but it does work!)

Which also mentions that this fix

242975.inf

Can also cause this problem

Looking at your list of MS fixes this is included in the service pack whereas the one mentioned in my previous post does not.

I'm going to remove SP2.0 and see if the problem goes away and take it from there

well why r u using 1.5 of the sp?also right now the sp is beta 2 and that can caause problems, install sp 1.6.2 n wait till sp2 comes out,i've never had a problem till i tried beta 2 of sp 2
