mark Posted December 11, 2004 Share Posted December 11, 2004 I run several copies of XP in different partitions on my HDD and on boot up, the MBR gives me the choice of which one I want to boot up. Tsunami Posted December 11, 2004 Share Posted December 11, 2004 I don't think it has anything to do with your MBR. Just open up C:\boot.ini in notepad and change the names. If you can't find boot.ini, you can also find it the GUI way: Properties of My Computer -> Advanced -> Startup- and recovery-settings -> Settings -> Edit (something like that ). It did the trick.Edit2: I would have thought it would be the MBR because it is so early on in the boot up process.
