Error during oempreinstall

Featured Replies

Hi, I am a bit confused using the Oem preinstall features. I 've created the $OEM$\$1 dir in i386 and copied there all hotfixes executables, put in the cmdlines.txt file and the winnt.sif in i386 dir. The installation blocks in gui mode giving me an inconsistency of data files error. Where is the error? Should I put the hotfixes in a different dir? Thanks

if i were u , i would integrate the hotfixes, saves time during windows install & takes up less room on your cd :P

but the cmdlines.txt goes INSIDE your $OEM$ which runs parallel to your i386 folder (never tried it your way, but it may work better this way) & winnt.sif is in your i386

$$ = Windir

$1 = Systemdirectory

$Progs = program files

$Docs = documents & settings

A correction to MCT's post, $1 is the SYSTEMDRIVE or partition where Windows is installed.

The SYSTEMDIRECTORY or WINDIR is $$.

May have been a typo. Just wanted to clarify.
