Hi,

I'm very new to this and im trying to make my unattended WinXP SP2 CD with UpdateXP 2.0.

Here are my questions:

1. @RyanVM or @everyone else

Would it be possible to create my own switchless apps?

2. @all

Concerning WMP10...what do i add to the registry.reg to make the WMP a silent install? I've read the Unattended Guide - WMP10 but the instructions are for a batch file, so I don't know what is the equivalent for the registry.reg since in that file its not written the same as in the explanation.

3. @all

Are there other guides for UpdateXP 2.0 besides?

- DVDlabs 1.3 with serial information

- Damek Ultrablue theme pack 1.8

- PC Anywhere 10.5

-WinAVI Video Converter 5.8 with serial

thoses for now...and the switchless apps that you list on your site, do i place them in the addons folder in UpdateXP 2.0 and are silent installs?

What about my question 2 and 3?

I've never even heard of UpdateXP 2.0, so here's some generic info: the EXEs I created are 7zip SFX archives with some scripting to run the msi files within silently. There's no reason you couldn't do it for other apps, but if they have silent switches, why bother? The three apps I made (publicly :P) all had reasons for being made beyond just being switchless (ie, they add some kind of update/hacked MSI as well).

You have nerver heard of UpdateXP 2.0? Here is the thread:UpdateXP 2.0 ...I will attach the guide file and registry.reg file that comes with it so you can have a look and maybe you could help me with my question 2.

but if they have silent switches, why bother?

What do you mean by this?

Is there some sort of tutorial to make silent install packages that dont need switches. The reason for my need of switchless apps is because in UpdateXP there is a place for those types of apps( folder is addons) that doesnt require regisrty entry.

registry.reg
