prathapml Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Sometimes you want to install the INF for a device that you don't have! For various reasons, of which one could be that you want to unattendedly install driver for hardware that you'll add later (maybe later when you add the device, you won't have the driver files nearby). Here's a snippet of the command to do it:rundll32 "syssetup,SetupInfObjectInstallAction DefaultInstall 128 > %SystemDrive%\la2124\oem1.inf"for device drivers forced INF install
prathapml Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 BTW, bashrat's driver-packs seem to be becoming very popular. Here's a snippet taken from the mailing-lists of http://unattended.sourceforge.netList-Archive: <http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum=unattended-info>On msfn.org's unattended windows setup one of the members has made a driverpatch for the windows cd. I've tried this in combo with unattended and itsolves the anoying sata driver situation for people who don't have the timewhen they are dealing with 10 or so controllers.heres the link:-http://www.btsunattended.net/EN/DriverPacks/index.htmsome of the links are broken sometimes so u can find them on the msfn.org boardsin the driver section.Personally I integrated this on all 3 of the versions of xp we use and it hasworked fantastic using method one.As a note, I never manually added the drivers into the site file, i just let itpick from the automatic driver section in unattneded.
Bâshrat the Sneaky Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Well what can I say? I'm happy Only this negative comment o/t broken links... Well, it's fixed
