Saraband Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Slipstreaming SP1/2 into my multboot XPCD ? can this be done ? can someone please post a link or guide ? thanks
Jito463 Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 All you have to do when slipstreaming is just point the slipstream process to the location of your installs i386 directory. It doesn't matter if it's a single install or an AIO disc.
Saraband Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 ok, but what if there are 3 I86 folders on the CD ?
htc Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 These I386 folders are in diff. locations (i.e. SETUP\PRO1\I386, SETUP\PRO2\I386 etc.).You must apply the slipsteaming in ALL of those folders.Important1: donot forget to edit the txtsetup.sif after the update, to ensure the value in SetupSourcePath = "the path of the root of your install files(I386\) on your AIO-CD" is correct, and then copy it into the specified boot folder. This must be done for all your boot options(in your case 3) Important2: donot forget to hexedit the setupldr.bin after the update, to ensure the value to point to the boot folder(i.g. \PRO1) is correct, and then copy it into the specified boot folder. This must be done for all your boot options(in your case 3) Important3: If all the tips above do not help, you have to rebuild your multiboot AIO cd again after the slipstream to get the correct boot files in specified boot folder
prathapml Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Also don't forget to update the files in your AIO's boot folders (root\PRO1, root\PRO2, etc.)
htc Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Also don't forget to update the files in your AIO's boot folders (root\PRO1, root\PRO2, etc.)This point I've already included in my one of the 3 "important..." , though I've used bold fonts, you have omitted it fully... your Avatar could be more convincing if there is a boy with glasses...
prathapml Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 your Avatar could be more convincing if there is a boy with glasses...lol, good idea!but yeah, we just try to put it in clearer words if not already mentioned, so don't feel bad that I repeated what you said.
Saraband Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 excellent. i did all the file updates and it worked. thanx alot
