Office 2003 updates can’t install

Recommended Posts

I’ve done my unattended DVD with windows XP and office 2003, all worked well, but now I can’t apply any updates to my office installation.

I’ve tried the following command:

msiexec /p c:\***.msp

but in the middle of the process it keeps asking for the MSI file in my original office cd.

Sorry for the noob question but I don’t know what else to do.

Thanks

Maybe you don't have the required MSI on that folder where you are updating with the patch. If you properly made an admin-install point and used the correct patching command-lines

example:
msiexec /p C:\SP1\MAINSP1ff.msp /a C:\Office2003\PRO11.msi SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb

You should not have any problems if you followed the guide *EXACTLY* here - http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/office2003_slipstreaming.htm.
