cyberthug Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 I have edited myy original msgina.dll and saved it under a differnet name. Used a reg key to point to the new one. It is worrking. But now XP starts up with the (classic?) logon style, with the two text boxes of Administrator, and password. (basically, not the logonui.exe screen) and when i try switching the way "users log on/off" from control panel, it says that it's been disallowed due to (and it also names) my new msgina.dll.Have i made a mistake while creating my new msgina? if so, anyone know my mistake??
SiMoNsAyS Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 are you running sp2? since sp2 that regkey will revert the logon to the classic apparence (i had the same problem when sp2 came out )if not is problem of your msgina.dll, is the root correct? is your file correctly "edited"?
cyberthug Posted November 21, 2004 Author Posted November 21, 2004 i just made sure for another time that i've edited it correctly. I didn't know about the SP2 problem, yes, i am using sp2....so guessing i should just forget editing msgina and leave it the way it is right?no way around this?
