Harmon Posted November 17, 2004 Share Posted November 17, 2004 I have PowerDVD 6 in my unattended install in runonceex.But when it should install, a Box comes with 'DirectX 9 needed', and it aborts.The Problem is, DX9c was installed at the 12-min stage on setup with svcpack.inf.[...]KB######.exe /Q /O /N /Zdxsetup.exe /silentqchain.exebut when runonceex finishes and startmenu is there (before restart), I can run dxdiag and its 9.0c.Does s.o. know how tosolve this?System is XP Pro SP1 (I don't want Sp2)thx 4 helpHarm Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
tguy Posted November 18, 2004 Share Posted November 18, 2004 Though it is installed and may run, the program .REG entries or .DLL's may not have registered yet until you reboot. If you can isolate what PowerDVD is looking for when it checks the DirectX version then you can take steps to register whatever is necessary for PowerDVD to install.Try installing PowerDVD with the installer set in debug mode so it will create a verbose log file of the installation process. You can then parse the installer log file to see if the process for version checking is in there and take measures to start mitigating your problem.
