Zxian Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Hi everyone,I'm using the Classic Start Menu in WindowsXP Pro, and I'd like to get rid of the Search entry.I've tried to remove it using the Group Policy Editor, but that also removes my ability to search for files in general, which I'd still like to be able to do.Is there any way to have my cake and eat it too?
jpatto Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Not sure if this does it for all users or just the account the script is executed on....remember to backup your registryhttp://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Zxian Posted November 17, 2004 Author Posted November 17, 2004 I couldn't find anything there that would remove the Search from the start menu. The entry "Remove the Search Button" refers to removing the button in Explorer at the top of the screen (next to the Forward and Back).
