There are many ways to enter a computer in a network environment. To prevent people for coming into your computer there are several things you can do.

First of all, you can install an Fire Wall. Or use the SP2 fire wall.

Second of all, people can enter your computer trough telnet.

you can go to Run => services.msc

then search fot Telnet and turn it off (disable it)

You go to the control Panel => System management and then op the

Local security policies

Then choose Local Policy and choose the second map (dont know the name in english). The you choose the item approximate the computer form the network or something like that, and look in properties and delete the group everybody.
