I was just informated about your guide on how to do an unattended install of WinXP. I was very pleased to hear about this since I always wanted to do this.

I just skimmed through it and I noticed it is SP2 based. I was wondering if there is an SP1 (or SP1a, samething) guide out there archived or still live on the web. The guy who recommended this to me told me that someone (FD, if you by any chance know of that name) uses this to create his own image. He created two so far, one was SP1 and one is SP2. This is why I'm lead to believe there was a earlier guide that was SP1 based.

I don't like SP2 that much. I had it installed for 5 minutes before I removed it. It was very crap in my opinion and caused a bunch of problems. I would like to avoid using SP2 again, though if there's no other option, I guess I would have to take what is given.

Any help/comments are welcome and greatly appreciated.

It is pretty much the same concept. :)  Ignore whatever applies to SP2 (tweaks, settings, etc)... ;)

So for this page, http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/winnt_sif.htm, I wouldn't need to create an Answer File?

To create that Answer File it says I need the XP SP2 Deployment Tools. So if I created one with that, would it work with SP1?

Thanks for your reply.
