Ranch Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 [sorry if this is in the wrong board..I have XP so I decided it should go here ]Anyhoo...I booted up as normal earlier, and Incredimail wouldn't start, I kept getting a runtime error box. I uninstalled it and installed it again from incredimail.com - It installed as normal and I went to open it from my desktop, nothing came up. I tried a few times, then browsed for help on google and found nothing. So i right clicked on it and clicked 'Run As' When I ran it like that, an error box saying:Could not load application skin (or one of its components). Is there anyway I can fix this, help would be great
^_^ Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 best thing about incredimail is that it has no recovery feature when windows crashesso don't us incredimail cuz it sucksthat's all the help I know.however, you may be able to uninstall it, then use a program like regcleaner to clean all the crap out of the windows registry, then try to reinstall it again
arcticdean Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 post from another section, but need to know!WHOAH !!!!!!!Not surprising, Incredimail is back. I'm finding that since it's certicied by MS, many antispyware programs overlook it. But it doesn't have an uninstall, causes pop-ups to install for every user at every login and here's the kicker.... Please pass this along! Here's an paragraph from incredimail's privacy policy (EULA):*********************************"10. UNSOLICITED MATERIALSAny confidential, secret or proprietary information or other material submitted or sent to IncrediMail, including without limitation via any Message sent by You through the Service, Site, or IncrediMail's physical mail and e-mail addresses, or in any other way, will be deemed to be not confidential or secret. By submitting or sending information or other material to IncrediMail or by posting information on any portion of the Service you (a) Warrant that you have all rights of any kind to the material and that to the best of your knowledge no other party has any rights to the material; and (B) Grant IncrediMail an unrestricted, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, display, perform, modify, transmit and distribute the material, and you further agree that IncrediMail is free to use any ideas, know-how, concepts or techniques you send us or post on the Service for any purpose, without any compensation to you or any other person."***********************************C'mon Billy, What are you thinking ??????????????????
tarquel Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 I agree with the others - "Incredimail sucks" - and IMHO, there are plenty of better mail clients if you dont like OE / Outlook. The only thing I can suggest is if you have bought it, is to call their technical support...if its the free version, get rid of it - its bound to contain some sort of spyware heheIf you really want to use it tho, try uninstalling it cmpletely again (if it asks to keep the user files or something similar, say no - you will probably have to remove every trace of it in order to use it again) and then try looking through the hard drive to find folders where its files may still be looking.- C:\Documents and settings\<yourusername>\Local Settings\Application Data\Incredimail- C:\Documents and settings\<yourusername>\Application Data\Incredimail- C:\Program Files\Incredimailare a few places to look.I couldn't tell you where to look in the registry but they may have more information on their website - I'm not gonna look on their site as no doubt, I'll get attacked by spyware lol Good luck.N.
