skinless Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 How to diable/enable regedit.exe in Windows XP Home Edition ??gpedit.msc does not work with win xp home i guess. at least not here .PLS HELP SOON.
aresgodofwar Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 since you can't use gpedit, i'd try renaming regedit.exe to something else. that way you can't run it. i may have a program at home that will help, but i just got to work. you can email me and i'll send it to you when i get home.
red_house Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 XP-AntiSpy - http://www.xp-antispy.org/ has a function "Deny starting regedit.exe" in the miscellaneous tab. It will do what you require.
jpatto Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 How about going into to safe mode and right clicking regedit.exe in the system32 folder (i think) and denying access to the user under the sharing or permissions tab.
