I have a problem.... many times, after reinstalling windows, when i try to shutdown my pc, win show me a stop error no the i8042prt driver... i found that this is a keyboard and mouse driver. Before the format, win xp always worked normally.... nothing stop error... i've never installed mouse or keyboard driver, and also afetr reinstalling.... i have a logitech cordless mous and a genius keyboard... how can i resolve this?ps: sorry for my englishbye...
Drewdatrip Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 If you have tracked this to the logitech driver, i would recomend trying the most recent drivers for the product. Uninstall pervious drivers and reinstall the most recent. However im not positive that this is the case. This is a Blue Screen correct?I would reccoend trying a Low Level Format or Zerofill. THere may eb some overlapping coruptted data.Install a new copy of Xp after your zerofil, see if that helpsIf you wish to test your theroy in regards to the Keyboard and mouse, try another one with different drivers, and see if you get different results.|Drew|
