yong2579 Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 Hey guys, I try to install Microsoft Office 2003 SP1 at T-13 mark and it refused to install.. i try the exact command at GUIRUNONCE and it works.. I read some website and it says it's due to Office 2003 requiring advanced registry entries.. is there no way to install at mark T-13?
CoffeeFiend Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 At T-13 your registry isn't finished creating yet afaik. It installs fine at GUIRunOnce or using RegOnceEx... No big deal (I only install one app at T-13)
RogueSpear Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 There's a lot of stuff you can't do at T-13, including anything having to do with WMI. I've had to come up with some work-arounds in my vbs script I run from cmdlines.txt after discovering this.
yong2579 Posted November 7, 2004 Author Posted November 7, 2004 ya i also realise it's limitation at T-13.. i thought of doing everything there cause greenmachine advise to install everything there to solve multiple profiles issue..
GreenMachine Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 ya i also realise it's limitation at T-13.. i thought of doing everything there cause greenmachine advise to install everything there to solve multiple profiles issue..Just because it's on the Internet, does not mean you can believe it ...You are not limited in script instructions nor program calls in this file itself, though certain programs/instructions may not work, due to the unfinished state of the windows setup.Personally, I install office upon first boot into the GUI. Concerning using CMDLINES.TXT/SVCPACK.INF for installations, my rule of thumb is simply, if it works there, do it there, if not, use GuiRunOnce, or equivilant.
yong2579 Posted November 7, 2004 Author Posted November 7, 2004 yup, i done it over there already. Thanks a lot guys for your advices!
