Enable Quick Launch with Policies

Tel

Recommended Posts

Any users logged onto the domain don't have their Quick Launch bar enabled. I have tried to look through the group policy to enable it, but I am unable to find that option. I have also tried the registry tweak, but when the user logs on again, it has been reset to disabled.

If I go to the Taskbar properties the option to enable Quick Launch is greyed out.

Does ANYBODY know how to enable Quick Launch for domain users?

Dont think that will work but try this.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value named "NoActiveDesktop", and set the new value to equal "1" to enable the restriction or "0" to disable the restriction.

Note: This restriction can be used either on a user by user basis by adding it to HKEY_CURRENT_USER or on a computer wide basis by adding it to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Key:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

Value Name: NoActiveDesktop

Data Type: REG_DWORD

Data:(0 = disable restriction, 1 = enable restriction)

Hope this helps.
