Help with winxp and SP2

Hello, I got my SP2 on cd. I've put it on my computer and installed it, but when I restarted it, my computer didn't work, I just see my desktop without my icons, and without start bar. I tried ctrl-alt-delete and run explorer.exe as a new tack, but no success, I tried disabling some services but no success, I've cleaned my startup programs but no success. What can In do????

reinstall windows

Try to open up regedit (using task manager) then go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

System

CurrentControlSet

Services

RpcSs

on the right hand side you will see

ObjectName

Select Modify (right click ObjectName)

and change it to

LocalSystem

Then reboot
