ypatia Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Hello,I'm running Windows XP Pro on my PC and I want to install Microsoft's web server (IIS) - trying to learn ASP. The problem is that I don't have the windows cd anymore. The only solution I could think of was to download the NTServer4.0 pack from Microsoft, but I'm not sure whether it works with XP.Does any of you know or have another solution in mind?thanks
CoffeeFiend Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 IIS does not have to be activated (like the topic suggests), but you will need the proper CD to install it (your NT4 disc won't work). Otherwise, there's always Apache::ASP left I suppose.
ypatia Posted October 31, 2004 Author Posted October 31, 2004 Thanks for the ideas - not sure I can borrow anyone's CD (I'm new to this country - don't have many friends) but I'll check the other options.much obliged for (and impressed by) the prompt replies!
aresgodofwar Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 ypatia, as long as you have a valid windows xp license, just call microsoft and explain the situation. they will send you another xp cd for a nominal fee. like 5-10 dollars.
