IF YOU WANT TO ADD TO WHAT YOU"RE ALREADY what to do.
this sentence is not at all CLEAR -Would you mind fixing it so it would make sense?

And if the sentence is'nt clear, obviously later on, everything you say concerning this sentence has no basis, and therefore will not and is not understandable.

Wait....let me get this straight....you want a program to do all the work for you?

Did you even search? Why should I do all the work for you? I should be studying for a test right now. Search MUI in the google bar at the top. There you should find SOMETHING.

Yeah, i want a program to do most if not all of the work for me-

this principle is the foundation of programs like nLite, is'nt it?

I did search and came up empty-Thought maybe you'd better luck or knowledge about that-guess not.

I'm not keeping you from studying for a test RIGHT NOW.

Idid not force you to go online and browse in this forum instead of studying for a test you may have...That's all on you.

If you dont have the will or the time or both, then why do you bother at all, especially with this kind of attitude. If you want to help, please do.

your balming me for your lack of study for a test, or making cracks on my expense is un called for:

Well golly gee Mr. O' Wholahan, why doesn't the search work for me?

Well I don't know Timmy, did you even try in the first place?

I Guess, simple answers of yes or no, and a polite response minus an attitude to search for this problem in where ever is out of the question, when you dont know the answer yourself, or dont want to bother if it's too much to type(which is good enough of a reason to refer someone to search for it....)

Still, thank you for any help you did provide.

^^ A simple search of MUI in the google bar. And I didn't say you were keeping me from studying, I was merely giving an example that I have things to do as well.

I must apologize for my sarcastic remark. Sorry. But the fact remains....SEARCH.

Repair option: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...28448&hl=Repair

Read nuhi's post.

BOTH of these searches used ONE WORD.

There is no program to do all the work for you. nLite was originally intended to merely make the CD smaller, and a replacement for the old Batch files. the MUI takes a simple line of code to work.

IF YOU WANT TO ADD TO WHAT YOU"RE ALREADY what to do.
Should have read
start.cmd is for EXPANDABILITY IF YOU WANT TO ADD TO WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE and what you want to do.

Yeah........I already did that search before.

It does'nt realy help me...My aim was an integration of a mui pack in an xp CD(not a DVD).

Preferably in the most space preserving way...something like ryanVM's do.

I also searched for the second search.

I might be misundersanding but, it does'nt give an option of REPAIR (recovery obviously is not the same in it's function, is it?)

RyanVM's for the most part are teh original installers, just packed in a SFX archive (self-extracting RAR or similar compression archive). You might be able to accomplish the same with the MUI, but I have yet to hear of any way to actually MERGE it with the original XP source. Perhaps a gander at the Microsoft websites?

The recovery console is as close to the repair option you;ll get if you use winnt.sif. Perhaps godan's settings (in the linked thread) solves it, but the repair option is simply the replace all installed XP files with the original CD ones right? Basically just a complete reinstall of the OS. The Recovery might be better suited. But yes, WINNT.SIF pretty much destroys the Repair option.

However, as a work around....

you could have a multiboot disc. Not with multiple OS's, but if you look at the flyakite guide (flyakite.msfnhosting.com), the XP section makes use of the boot folders (the WINNT~BT folders when installing form within Windows). If you make two copies of them, one with and one without the winnt.sif file, you'll have a nice work around as well as a method to install without anything preentered for whatever reason you may need that.

I'm having a hard time understanding the 2 boot folders thing, the process that is-I dont see exact detailed instructions there(for a CD anyway)-I'll look around HERE

for some more for this multi-boot thing...but i doubt i'll unserstand it.

I did'nt find anything on the microsoft website, pertaining to MUI integration.

Is there a way to make an unattedned cd without the winnt.sif file, which will mean, the repair option sould still be on?

Also:if i just put my favoriate wallpapers in the I386 folder of xp(not winnt.sif file),

will they naturally become chocies in the desktop wallpaper options in properties,

just like the regular .JP_ files?
