got some questions.... help

1) i converted my fat to ntfs this morning ............ i m just wondering when in what

situation are the features encryption n compression useful ... pls someone answer ...

2) one more problem,,,i saved a registry key from win 98 which is obviuosly older version than the current xp .... can i convert it to new vesrion ?? it shows junk characters now.....when opened in notepad its proper the first line in win 98 registry key i saved is

REGEDIT4

n in xp in xp reg files its

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

is this has to do something with it ??

3) how do i change computer name thru reg n add it to batch file to make batch file add to reg ?

1)encryption is useful if u dont want ppl seeing your crap

2) Regedit4 works in xp, tell us the EXACT key/values in your reg file plz

3) its been discussed, u can do it via a batch file command plz use search
