network asks for pass! (unat)

Recommended Posts

hi, hope my subject was clear,

i made myself a nice clean installation following many guides in here , after searching and searching again i managed to do what i wanted , so i installed my xp on few computers...

so it's winxp pro sp2 (did the same with sp1)

and when i want to browse netwtwork and computers on network , a dialog box pops up and asks for a pass to log on to the computer...

i cancel and can't of course access network , if i don't put anything of course it asks for more :P

i didn't change anything related to user rights or anything in winnt.sif or registry tweaks...or command

anyone had this problem in the past?

i could post my file for a check if needed...

thanks for your time anyway..

i'm in a workgroup. the pc i'm trying to browse is runnin windows2000pro, this one windows xp. i have no autologon.reg and in winnt.sif autologon is disabled.

i just checked the 2000 machine, enabled the guest account and added rights to view, execute etc for the group "everybody". now i can browse it's files and execute m but why doesn't this work automatically?

this could be caused because autologon=disabled?

thx in advance
