xpyrate Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 is there a way to integrate DX9c into a windows XP home service pack 1a installation CD? w/o using the guirunonce command or an $OEM$ folderive been here:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...grating+directxand here:http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/applications/directx.htmbut i can't find the svcpack.inf they talk about, and ive already integrated the hotfixes and drivers w/ nLite i'm confident i can install it using the guirunonce but Id much rather have it integrated into the systemnote: i am not installing sp2 ... all the problems i ever hear from support forums nowadays begin w/ "Ever since I installed service pack 2 ..."
Alanoll Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 if you do not have a svcpack.inf file, make sure you don't ahve a svcpack.in_ in your I386 folder after nLite. If so, simply EXPAND svcpack.in_ back to svcpack.inf and open in notepad and add to it, then MAKECAB svcpack.inf . Otherwise (I'm sure you have a svcpack.inf if you've used nLite for hotfixes) just simply create the file yourself. Open in notepad, add the required sections and save it.And as a side note, this is more of an ADDING to the CD, and not an Integrating. Integrating/Slipsteaming would be replacing the orignal files with the updated ones.
xpyrate Posted October 24, 2004 Author Posted October 24, 2004 thnx for your help B)so i should put dx90csilent.EXE into this folder C:\XPCD\I386\SvcPack ... or should it be the extracted version before I put it through iexpress.exe? or the original "unsilent" version?then modify the srvpack.inf like so:[SetupHotfixesToRun]KB841873.exe /q /n /zKB840315.exe /q /n /zdx90csilent.EXEim thinking it might need a switch or two
