rjmk2000
Got the following message tonight and have been unable to boot into XP Pro - "<windows root>\system32\hal.dll is missing or corrupt" Tried booting from the XP disk but I do not have the repair function listed which most of the sites are telling me is the usual fix. Any ideas?Running XP Pro with SP2Cheers, Rob
jpatto
Try the following command in RC (Recovery Console) with your XP disk inserted:expand d:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dlld = should be the letter of your CD drive.

jpatto
Get the set up files from the Microsoft website and save them onto a floppy this will give you the option to get into RC.
