Using Virtual PC 2004

Featured Replies

I'm just curious if you have your drives loaded on an unattended install and you test the iso file using vpc2004, should the drivers in device manager be the same as the drivers you had loaded or will they be generic? Ex. I have a k8n neo platinum mb with a geforc 6800 vid card on my computer. However, in vpc2004, my computer devices show intel for the system devices and s3 trio for my video card. Even after I ran the nvidia vid card driver setup and rebooted, device manager stiLL showed s3 trio as the vid card. Is this normal?

Generic hardware. Your drivers will mean nothing inside virtual pc.

Yes, VirtualPC emulates hardware. It's a common misperception that it directly interfaces with your hardware. It doesn't.
